Madisonville

The total area of Madisonville is 2.51 square miles, and it is on the banks of the Tchefuncte River.

Madisonville was founded in 1800 by Jean Baptiste Baham, but the city was renamed to honor James Madison in 1810. At the time, he was the President of the United States. It was previously called Coquille due to the abundance of seashells found on the shores of the town.

Madisonville is a picturesque town that looks as if it’s pulled straight out of a landscape painting. One of the most awe-inspiring attractions is the Madisonville Lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1837. At one time it was accessible by land, but since the route was destroyed in 1965 by Hurricane Betsy, the lighthouse can only be reached by boat. When it was in use, the lights from this lighthouse could be seen for 11 miles.

Folsom

Folsom is a small village located in St. Tammany Parish in the state of Louisiana. It’s in the New Orleans – Metairie – Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Folsom is 725.
